I was born on May 22nd of 1980 in Ota, Tokyo. My parents or creators were Toru Iwatani and Shigeo Funaki. I was one of five 'brothers', Oikake, (oykay) Machibuse (matchibooze), Kimagure(kimgerrr) and Otoboke (Ottobokey). I moved into America in October of that same year.


Little did I know that I would become one of the most popular icons of the 1980's, to the point where, my legacy included a TV series, a top ten single and a box office smash hit film.


I was designed around the Japanese alphabet character Kuchi, or mouth. My name changed later in 1980, in an effort to avoid vandalism from people changing the 'P' in my name to an 'F' on my packaging and housing !


I was designed to have no ending, but due to a sub routine glitch, my four partners in crime could be stopped at level 256. My various incarnations generated more that $2.5 billion by the 1990's. Manly in US quarters.


I'm the highest grossing video game of all time. Together with my four colleagues Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde, we battle ghosts a maze, eating white dots and fruit as we go. Who or what am I ?
