I was born in Frimley, Surrey in May of 1979. My father Phillip and my mother Philippa. I have one older brother Mark. Both of my parents, had sporting connections, Dad was a Cricketer and Mum played county level squash.
Naturally I follow suit and pursue a sporting life. Educated at Pierrepnt school and then Lord Wandsworth College in Hampshire. Studying in Biology, Chemistry and French, all to A grade, gaining me a place at Durham Uni. I particularly loved French.
My love for sport led me to follow the teachings of Budda, which later in my life helped me to achieve the greatest feet in my chosen sporting field. By 1997 I had given up student life to join Newcastle as a professional sportsman.
It only took my a year to get into the England squad an in June of 1998 I went on the 'Tour of Hell' that saw us suffer heavy defeats to both New Zealand and Australia. However, I became a first pick regular for both England and The Lions.
In 2003 I was awarded the BBC Sports Personality of the Year, probably due to my achievements in the 6 Nations and the World Cup Final of that year, kicking the most famous drop goal in Rugby Union history against Australia on their own turf ! Who Am I ?
Answer
Jonathan 'Johnny' Peter Wilkinson.
