I was born Edward Michael on the 7th June 1974. I grew up in Donaghadee in CountyDown, Northern Ireland. Both my Mother and Father were politicians. I have one sister Lara, who was responsible for giving me my 'now famous' nickname.
I have served in the Territorial Army and in the 21 SAS Regiment. I hold the honorary rank of Lieutenant Commander in the Royal Naval Reserve and Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Marines. However, my current residence is a barge moored by Battersea Bridge on the River Thames.
I have appeared in several TV adverts including Sure for Men, and the first ever Harrods TV ad, and I am actively marketing the Alpha Course on the basics of the Christian faith. I have written several books about my escapades, and hosted my own TV series.
My exploring exploits are well documented, including achieving my childhood dream of climbing to the summit of Everest in May of 1988. In 2000 I circumnavigated the British Isles on a jet ski to raise money for the RNLI and rowed naked in a homemade bathtub along the Thames for charity.
Other expeditions have seen me crossing the North Atlantic in an inflatable, and paramotoring over the Himalayas. In 2009 I replaced Blue Peter's Peter Duncan as Chief of the Scout Association. Not forgetting my TV series' are The Island and Mission Survive. Who Am I ?
