015.

I was born on the 30th of November 1960 to my parents Barry, a greengrocer and my mother Margaret. I share my birthday with Winston Churchill, hence my middle name of Winston.

My first school was Caldecote Road School in Braunstone, then Leicester Boys Grammar School where I excelled at rugby. I have one younger brother Wayne, we both spend most of our School years living with my grandmother.

By the age of eleven I was captain of Leicestershire Schools cricket team, and through out my teenage years I idolised David Gower. I eventually left school with just four o levels. My love for cricket turn to football, but on my final report card my teacher said “He concentrates on sport to much, he'll never make a living at that”.

In 1976 I join the first of my five football clubs, Leicester City. I turned out 196 times for Leicester before joining Everton in 85, before a three year stint at Barcelona. By now I had established myself as England's number one striker. A year later I married Michelle Cockayne

I returned to English football in 1989 with Tottenham Hotspur, and finally retired after a brief career with Nagoya Grampus 8 in Japan. But most people now know me as the face of Walkers Crisps, and for my football punditry on Match of the Day and with BT Sport. Who am I ?
