I was born onMarch 19th 1955 in Idar Oberstein in West Germany. My father David was a soldier and my mother Marlene a bank clerk born in Germany. I am the eldest of four children, two brothers and one sister, who affectionately refer to me as Buck Buck.


As a child I was troubled by a nervous stutter, but overcame this to eventually become the student council president. My first job was as a security guard at Salem Nuclear Plant, then I took a job as a private Investigator, a role I would later play in film and TV.

Eventually I was cast in the role of David addison Jnr, opposite Cybill Shepherd in the 80's hit TV series based in a detective agency. It was 'Moonlighting' that launched my acting career. Married twice, first to actress Demi Moore and now to Emma Heming


Many roles followed even a couple of hit singles “Under The Broadwalk” and “Respect Yourself”. My films include 'Twelve Monkeys', 'Armageddon', 'Fifth Element', 'The Jackel', and the 'Sixth Sense', but it's as cop John McClane in the 'Die Hard' series of films that you'll remember me for. Who am I ?
